About Me

I started coding in 2002, when you had to go and buy huge paper books to learn programming (I was in 7th grade). Throughout my 12+ years of professional experience, I have worn many hats – from building Windows and web applications, to training ML rankers and classifiers, to designing complex and scalable distributed systems. My magic power is taking product ideas and turning them into working software, and empowering others to do the same as a technical leader.

Some notable highlights of my career so far:

• Led the team that built novel News detection and ranking systems for Facebook Trending
• Built the infrastructure for image search at Dropbox
• Designed a retrieval-based system for “Quick Add” friend suggestions on Snapchat that resulted in +XX% in friending metrics and several million $/yr saved in infra costs

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, enjoy the great outdoors, and train Brazilian Jiu-JItsu. I also love traveling the world and experiencing different cultures.
